4 Reasons Why Relationships Will Get You a Job

Often times we are tired of the endless rejection emails we receive from companies and recruiters.

You have a well-crafted CV and have learned the rudiments of how to scale an interview but the job is just not coming.

Maybe this is the time you need to leverage your network of existing relationships to land a job. And here is why;

How to get a job with good Relationships

1. No man is an island

It is a cliché but a relevant one. The lone wolf dies but the pack survives. You must network deliberately and now is the time to get started. The internet has broken all social boundaries. LinkedIn is a great place to start.

2. Your contacts are more connected than you imagine

It all starts by discussing your predicament. If you don’t say, how would they know? In the past, I have personally benefited from a contact that I never imagined would be of significant help in my job hunt.

3. Believe it or not, there are helpers

Yes! Yes! Yes! Think again because it is true, a lot of people love to help if only you will give them a chance. Start a conversation with a stranger on a ride that you both share, in church, school, and so on. At S2S, we have a dedicated social community where recruiters and job seekers meet. You never know when your happy hour is due.

4. It’s payback time for all your good deeds

Be a nice person, it cost zero (0) Naira, and you may never be forgotten too soon. Besides, humans have a way of celebrating kind and generous people and this works a significant ripple effect coming back to you.

Conclusion

So, here’s a video to prove it. Don’t be too fast to say it’s only applicable overseas, it is applicable everywhere.
